    Bean Sieve separates a roasted coffee sample by whole-bean size. Sieve the sample, weigh each tray, then use the calculator to build repeatable AeroPress doses from the same size profile.

    How to use it

    The main workflow, kept simple.

    This is the core guide. Everything else on the page supports these five steps.

    Stack the trays.

    Stack the trays from largest opening to smallest opening. Tray 1 goes on top. Tray 8 goes near the bottom. The catch tray sits underneath.

    Sieve the sample.

    Pour the roasted beans into the top tray. Shake the stack until the beans settle into their size fractions.

    Reveal the sample’s size profile. Do not treat the trays as “good” or “bad” by default.

    Weigh each tray.

    Weigh the beans from each retained tray. Enter the tray weights into the Bean Sieve calculator.

    Start with a matched baseline first.

    Then change one size region on purpose.

    For example, you can reduce smaller retained fractions, reduce larger retained fractions, or build a middle-weighted profile.

    Keep the rest of the recipe stable and taste against the baseline.
