View Bean Sieve matched-dose workflowThe physical inventory is the source of truth. Weigh each tray carefully, keep the tray order consistent, and confirm that the entered total matches the coffee in front of you before planning a dose. The app cannot detect beans left in a transfer cup, material entered under the wrong tray, or a scale that was not tared.
A matched profile reproduces the proportions of the retained sample; it does not claim that those proportions are ideal. Removed-extremes and custom profiles are deliberate experiments. Keep the recipe around them stable if you want the resulting cup to teach you anything about the size-profile change.
Preparing a dose changes the session. The committed receipt records what was removed and the planner recalculates from the remaining trays. Undo exists for an accidental last commit, but older receipts stay read-only so later edits cannot silently rewrite the inventory history.
Sessions are stored locally in the current browser. Copy or export any recipe or inventory state that must survive device changes, storage clearing, private-browsing cleanup, or a handoff to another person. No account or cloud backup is implied by the live app label.
Begin with the physical tray stack. Enter each retained weight in the same order used on the table, confirm how much coffee is accounted for, and keep the bottom catch tray excluded unless the workflow deliberately includes that material. The app can only be as trustworthy as the inventory entered into it.
Treat the next-dose profile as a plan separate from current inventory. Choose matched, removed-extremes, or custom percentages, check the computed grams, and prepare the dose only when the remaining trays can still reach the requested target. Committing the dose creates an immutable receipt and updates what remains.
Use the prepared-dose columns to compare the sequence without rewriting history. If the coffee or profile changes, the next plan should be calculated from remaining inventory rather than from the original sample. Copy or export the current recipe when the physical handoff matters outside the browser.
BeanSieve Companion does not identify the best size profile. A matched profile is a controlled baseline; deliberately favoring a fraction is an experiment whose value still has to be judged in the cup.
The workspace stores sessions in this browser. It has no account, cloud sync, shared database, or automatic recovery on another device. Export important work before clearing browser storage or changing machines.
Rounded hand-dosing values and exact theoretical percentages serve different purposes. Small scale-step mismatches are expected, but the app blocks preparation when the requested dose is no longer achievable rather than silently recording a short dose as complete.
Brew Supply apps organize decisions that would otherwise be scattered across memory, paper notes, and disconnected calculator results. They are most useful when the record changes what you do next: repeat a promising setup, isolate one variable, notice that inventory is running out, or reject a comparison that changed too many things at once. More fields are not automatically more rigor; the useful record is the smallest one that still explains the next decision.
The browser remains the operating boundary. Review inputs before committing irreversible workflow actions, export work that matters outside the current device, and keep sensory conclusions separate from what the software can calculate. Neither a polished chart nor a saved session turns subjective notes into laboratory evidence. The brewer remains responsible for tasting, safety, competition compliance, and deciding whether the added structure is worth the time.
