AeroStop
    How-to guide

    Choose where the press stops.

AeroStop makes your AeroPress endpoint physical and repeatable. Pick a stack, place the stop, brew normally, then press until the stop.

    Variables to control
    Before

    Guess when to stop pressing

    After

Stop at a fixed physical endpoint

    Stop adjustment
    Before

    No fixed stop depth

    After

Each booster stops the press 2 mm earlier

    Key benefits

Portable physical press stop that helps AeroPress brewers end the press phase more consistently.

    • Physical stop reduces over-pressing compared with guessing when to stop.
    • Base plus booster shims let you stop 2 mm earlier with each added booster.
    • As a rough starting rule, each booster trims about 4 g from the pressed output.
    • Compact and portable for competition kits and travel brewing.
    • More consistent end-of-press control than intuition alone.
    • Less precise than AeroBox and does not measure flow rate.

As a starting point, think of each booster as removing roughly 4 g of brewed output. That is a practical calibration step, not a hard rule.

    How to use it

    The main workflow, kept simple.

This is the core guide. Everything else on the page supports these five steps.

    01

    Choose stack.

Use this as the initial starting point. Pick the stack before brewing, then adjust from there if needed.

    02

    Place AeroStop.

Fit AeroStop around the AeroPress plunger shaft so the stop point is ready before water goes in.

    03

    Brew normally.

Keep your usual dose, water, grind, and timing. AeroStop is only setting the end point.

    Important

Do not change the rest of the recipe just to use the stop.

    04

    Press until the stop.

Plunge steadily. Stop when the plunger reaches AeroStop instead of trying to guess the endpoint by feel.

    05

    Check and adjust.

After the brew, check whether the stop or grams-out landed where you wanted. Add or remove boosters before the next brew if you want a small endpoint change.

    Tiny detail, big difference

Each booster changes the stop by 2 mm.

    Quick adjustment guide

Small stack changes. Small endpoint changes.

Use the stack to move the endpoint in small, predictable steps. Recheck the stop after any change.

    01

    Base only

Use the base stop as your starting point.

    02

    Add one booster

Move the stop 2 mm earlier.

    03

    Add more boosters

Each booster moves the stop another 2 mm earlier.

    Fast check

Base only if you want the standard stop.

Add a booster if you want the stop earlier.

Remove boosters if you want to return to the base stop.

Recheck the stop before the next brew.
    Why use it?

    Keep the endpoint physical.

    01

The stop happens in the same place every time.

    02

You can compare brews without guessing where the press ended.

    03

Small stack changes are easy to understand and easy to repeat.

    Want more control?

AeroBox measures the press instead of only stopping it.

If you want to track grams-out or flow rate, AeroBox is the companion tool. AeroStop keeps the endpoint physical. AeroBox adds measurement.

    Companion note

AeroStop is for repeatable endpoint control.

AeroBox is for measuring the press itself.

Use the one that matches the decision you need to make.
